Abstract

Unstable thoracolumber spinal fractures have the many problem, such as progressive deformity, pain, paralysis, skin breakdown, infection, and disruption of the body balance.
And the fractures are prevalent in the relatively young active person. So the management of the fractures is important in prevention of the physical and psychosocial handicap. But there are many controversies in the definition, . diagnosis, and treatment method of the
instability.
The author reviewed the literatures for the recent trend of the management of the unstable thoracolumbar spinal fractures.
